Just wanted to reply to this post with the name Richard Elmore. If you have time look him up. So often revolutionary ideas are considered from the fringe and thus untrustworthy. Elmore’s is a voice that would fit in here and he’s speaking as a professor of educational leadership at the graduate school at Harvard.

Twice this month so far I’ve seen a comparison between school and prison. One is a film called “the war on kids.” The film raises a lot of legit questions. The second is from a faculty member at Harvard. HARVARD! Yet so many are not listening. Is this comparison out of line? I’m not so sure. Richard Elmore link below.

It’s a good attitude you have!
Truth is I think the best any of us can do is simply what we know is right. Set aside the nonsense, know our students and what they need and how they learn and do what’s best for them.
